Dr. Eben Alexander is a neurosurgeon and author of the best-selling book Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife. In these two programs Dr. Alexander gives a powerful re-telling of his story by looking at the past two and a half years of his life spent in trying to reconcile his rich spiritual experience with contemporary physics and cosmology. He is convinced that his spiritual experience is totally consistent with the leading edges of scientific understanding. These two presentations were part of the 128th Summer Convention of the Theosophical Society in America. The theme for the conference was "Science and the Experience of Consciousness." 2014. | |

Short & Shivery: Thirty Chilling Tales / retold by Robert D. Ghost Hunters: William James and the search for scientific proof of life after death / Deborah Blum - James and a small group of eminent scientists staked their reputations, their careers, even their sanity on one of the most extraordinary quests ever undertaken: to empirically prove the existence of ghosts, spirits, and psychic phenomena. Hallowe'en: a festival of lost meanings / Alvin Boyd Kuhn - Have you ever wondered why we celebrate Halloween the way that we do? Vikram and the Vampire: or tales of Hindu devilry / translated by the noted Victorian Orientalist, Sir Richard F.
